GRANTS TO OTHER CHARITIES

In 2010 the Trust re-launched its Non-Masonic Grants programme under a new name: Stepping Stones.
Stepping Stones is based on the Masonic principle of relief and is one way that the Freemasons of England and Wales are supporting those children in their national communities who are most in need. The scheme aims to help reduce severe child poverty by breaking the link between the lack of access to education and the cycle of poverty. The scheme aims to provide grants to charities and programmes working to alleviate poverty and improve educational outcomes among those children and young people who are most deprived and educationally disadvantaged.
We have an agreed budget of £50,000 for grant-making in 2010 and aim to provide four to eight grants of various amounts up to £20,000. Two-year grants are available, with a maximum grant of £15,000 per year.
The scheme is open to applications from charities registered in England and Wales which are working to significantly improve life outcomes for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
If you are interested in applying for a grant please read through the RMTGB Stepping Stones information for further details about the kinds of projects and charities we hope to support, examples of past grants and the application process. Interested charities should then send a one page initial enquiry, comprising the charity’s registration number, main area of work, the amount of the grant requested and a description of the programme or project, including its location. If your enquiry fits the aims and requirements of the scheme we will then send you a full application form.
