In December 1998, the RMTGB launched Lifelites, a special £7.5M fund for helping children’s hospices throughout England and Wales. 

Lifelites aims to improve the lives of young people with life-limiting illnesses by providing a full package of education and entertainment technology to children’s hospices. The equipment given by Lifelites enables terminally ill children to continue their education, pursue their interests and activities and keep in close touch with family and friends.

In the autumn of 2005, a decision was taken by the RMTGB to establish Lifelites as a separate charity. In order to sustain its commitment to the children’s hospice movement Lifelites will need to raise around £600,000 per annum.In its new capacity Lifelites will continue to receive funds from the RMTGB and the Craft but will aim to attract funding from a wider range of sources.
