GIFT AID
What is Gift Aid? Gift Aid is a tax relief for cash gifts made to charities by UK residents who are taxpayers (whether income or capital gains tax).
How does it work? You make a payment to the Trust net of basic rate tax and the Trust will send you a Gift Aid Declaration form for you to complete and return to the Trust, so that it can claim the tax back from the Inland Revenue. If you pay tax at the higher rate, you can get relief separately when completing your tax return. Gift Aid payments may be made as single, ‘one-off’ gifts or you may enter into an agreement to pay the Trust a regular amount over a specified period of time (we would suggest 4 years).

PAYROLL GIVING/GIVE AS YOU EARN
If you earn a salary, or if your pension is paid via PAYE, you could consider making donations to the Trust by Payroll giving or Give As You Earn, which is the UK’s largest payroll giving scheme. Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax so each £1.00 you give will only cost you 78p (75p from April 2008) and if you are a higher rate tax payer it will only cost you 60p. To learn more about these options, please visit their websites www.payrollgiving.co.uk www.payrollgiving.co.uk and www.cafonline.org.
To make donations in this way, your employer will need to be running a Payroll Giving or GAYE scheme. Please always advise the Trust if you decide to make donations to us via these schemes.
